How to Use Twitter for Business
Twitter is one of the social media platforms that fewer people really understand. It seems a bit mysterious - sort of like writing a poem that goes viral. It is actually easy to set up and with just 140 characters (140 for the Tweet and 20 for the address), it doesn't take long to write it. The 140 characters are the same as a SMS text message.
What are the advantages or the differences between Twitter and other social platforms? Twitter is much more instant. While this video does not cover them, there are Twitter parties that are typed out in realtime. Getting an answer to a tweet a few seconds later is also common. Everything happens faster and messages can go viral very quickly too, meaning there is an explosion of shares and retweets.
I guess you might know that the younger media users rarely use e-mail these days. It's all text messages, instagram posts and Tweets. Twitter has been used by astronauts on the International Space Station because the message could more easily be transmitted such long distances. However, I haven't found it useful with my Chinese business partners. It doesn't seem to be set up in some places.
